The SSE Group appoints Max Lauwiner from the canton of Valais as head of its Fine Chemicals Unit Valsynthese and a member of the Management Team

Brig, Switzerland – From June 1st, 2022, Max Lauwiner took over the responsibility of Valsynthese, the Fine Chemicals business unit of the SSE Group, as Senior Vice President. In this role, Mr. Lauwiner is also a member of the Group Management Team.

M. Lauwiner, PhD Chemical Engineering ETH Zurich and MBA, has 25 years of progressive experience in the fine chemical and specialty chemical industry including development, process optimization, manufacturing, sales, business development and strategy making.

M. Lauwiner held several roles in development, scale-up and manufacturing in Switzerland and in the US with focus on Pharma, Agro and Nutrition for the Group Lonza.

For the past two years, he has overseen all global operational activities of LSI (Lonza Specialty Ingredients) as Senior Vice President. This nomination is a further step in the development of our Fine Chemicals business in addition to the recent strategic partnership between Valsynthese and Royal DSM. “Our production site in Gamsen, in the upper Valais, occupies a strategic position as a growth driver for our Group”, says Gilles de Preux, CEO of the SSE Group.
