2020 Government Relations Year-End Report

2020 saw SOCMA's Government Relations team continuing its efforts in support of the Specialty & Fine Chemical industry. With the collaboration from members, we were able to advocate for the industry despite not being able to host our Annual Policy Summit & Fly-in.

Monument Chemical Brandenburg Awarded SOCMA’s 2020 Educational Outreach Award

In a year when young people are shifting to online learning more than ever before, the team at Monument Chemical, LLC, Brandenburg, KY, answered the call through its support of the local 4-H "Get STEAM'd Up" initiative, an at-home STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) program. As a result of this exceptional effort to educate a new generation about the importance of specialty chemistry, the Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) is awarding Monument Chemical Brandenburg with its 2020 Educational Outreach Award.

SOCMA Reschedules Specialty & Custom Chemicals Show to April 14-16, 2021

With great optimism surrounding two recent vaccines for COVID-19, there is renewed hope for 2021, particularly starting in the second quarter of the year. As such, the Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) is rescheduling the Specialty & Custom Chemicals Show, originally set for February, to April 14-16, 2021, at the Omni in Fort Worth, TX.
